The hundreds of people who laced up their shoes and went on CROP Walks for hunger relief raised money for emergency assistance in Jacksonville and around the world. About 700 people recently participated in the Jacksonville-area walks and raised an estimated $30,000 from sponsors, according to organizers. Twenty-five percent of the money went to area nonprofits — Arlington Community Services, Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry, United Community Outreach Ministry, Westside Christian Outreach and The Clothes Closet.
